City Kids began in 1984 with a small group of enthusiastic, dedicated parents who wanted a joyful, nurturing place for their children to learn and grow. What started as a parent‑driven passion project has blossomed over the decades into a vibrant early‑years community — and we’re proud that the same spirit of involvement, warmth, and togetherness is at the heart of all we do.
Our philosophy is simple: every child is competent, capable, and full of potential. We see children as curious learners with their own ideas, interests, and ways of making sense of the world. Our role as adults is to walk alongside them, supporting, nurturing and guiding individual learning journeys.
We help children thrive by creating a safe, happy community built on positive relationships and thoughtfully designed environments. Our little ones are encouraged to explore, discover, and express themselves freely, knowing they are surrounded by people who believe in them and celebrate who they are.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to our happy corner of Hong Kong. It is a wonderful place to be. Every day, we see our children grow, discover and fall in love with learning.
Our preschool is often the first independent schooling experience for our children. It’s an opportunity for them to be curious about themselves, others, and the world around them, and develop the confidence and creativity that will make their childhood the magical and invaluable experience it should be.
Our team are passionate early years educators. Initially the main goals of the programme are independence, confidence and the development of a positive attitude towards school. Gradually the children are introduced to a more structured timetable and a combination of play-based and teacher-led activities that will help them develop the skills necessary to successfully transition into the next phase of their education.

A big, happy welcome to Little Stars — our cosy, joy‑filled space for Hong Kong’s littlest explorers. It’s a privilege to spend my days with children during these magical early months and years, when even the smallest moments are milestones worth celebrating.
For many of our families, Little Stars is the very first step into a learning community. It’s where little ones begin to explore the world beyond home, build trust with new grown‑ups, and start forming those early friendships that make their days brighter.
Our playgroup is designed to be gentle, nurturing, and full of opportunities for children to follow their curiosity — whether that’s splashing, stacking, singing, or taking it all in at their own pace.
Our team is devoted to early childhood development, and we focus on the foundations that matter most at this age: confidence, independence, communication, and the joy of trying new things. Through play‑based experiences, sensory exploration, and warm, responsive interactions, we help children feel safe, supported, and ready for whatever comes next in their learning journey.

One of City Kids most defining features is its location within a Grade II listed historic building. Built in 1901, it was originally The British Military Hospital and used by the British Garrison. With the building saved for preservation, we are incredibly grateful to benefit from its charm, lofty high ceilings and distinctive brick exterior, indoor-outdoor flows, and lush green surroundings.
Our bright and spacious classrooms have an abundance of character. They are very well resourced with quality toys, activities and educational equipment and are proudly adorned with children’s artworks and projects.
One of the greatest features of our space is our covered back balcony where children have daily access to sand and water play, sensory equipment, easels, balls, role playhouse and climbing equipment come rain or shine!
You cannot help but fall in love with this beautiful and unique building and the children of City Kids benefit from a campus unlike any other in Hong Kong.
Since joining Archie has really come out of his shell, he loves playing with the other children and interacting with his teachers. There is always a different activity set up for the kids to enjoy and different themes. We are really happy with city kids and everything they offer.
City Kids has been an amazing preschool experience for our family in Hong Kong. Both of our children attended, and we’ve truly loved the warm teachers, friendly environment, and the way they help children settle in, learn, and grow with confidence.
My sons Yves (Ladybugs) and Luca (Little Stars) absolutely love attending City Kids. The teachers are lovely and thoughtful, the classes are small, and the curriculum keeps them curious and engaged every day. It’s been a wonderful experience for our whole family.
